My name is Alayne Wadsworth. I was diagnosed with Scoliosis at age 13 and I was put in a body brace for 5 years of my life. I became a professional dancer and continued my education through college where I received my degree in Movement Studies. At age 26 I was required to have a full back fusion (T1-L3) I thought my dance career was over. I grew three inches taller and started my new career in Acting and Modeling. I gave dance a chance with the new body and became a World Champion earning my title in the Smooth Ballroom category one year after my surgery.

I continue to teach dance to teams and individuals. My students and I have been featured on shows like Dancing With The Stars, So you Think You Can Dance and World Of Dance. I get the opportunity to share my story at big corporate events and perform for others. I am a girl with many traits and talents. I also became a Pilates Instructor to further my knowledge of the human body and to help others with recovery. I feel very blessed to be able to do what I love. I never knew the possibilities till I began to try and don’t take things for granted. I enjoy my free time hiking, cooking and even talking to many Scoliosis Warriors, encouraging and supporting them to dream big and to never give up. I hope to encourage others to follow their dreams and live a full life.

I am deeply honored to be a Scoliosis Warrior and never asked why I was meant to face this challenge. I am the person I am today because of it all. Can’t wait to see what else I do.
